Kevin Young

Kevin Young is the poetry editor of The New Yorker and an award-winning author of more than 16 books of poetry and prose. His book Stones was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize, and his recent collection Night Watch: Poems was a New York Times Editors’ Choice. His children’s book Emile and the Field was named a New York Times Best Children’s Book. From 2021 to 2025, Young served as director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Megha Majumdar

Megha Majumdar has been described as “one of the most exciting voices of her generation.” Her novel A Guardian and a Thief won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Fiction, was a finalist for the National Book Award, and was selected as an Oprah’s Book Club and Read with Jenna pick, as well as one of the 10 Best Books of 2025 by The Atlantic and TIME. Her debut novel A Burning was a New York Times bestseller, won the Whiting Award, and has been translated into multiple languages. Raised in India, Majumdar now lives in New York City.

Michael Chabon

Michael Chabon is the Pulitzer Prize–winning author of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, which the New York Public Library named one of the 125 most important books of the last 125 years. His novel The Yiddish Policemen’s Union won both the Nebula Award and the Hugo Award for Best Novel, and his second novel, Wonder Boys, was adapted into a critically acclaimed film. The Los Angeles Times calls Chabon “a loving craftsman of superb sentences” whose work is known for its dazzling fiction. Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in tobacco country, he now lives in California.

Rebecca F. Kuang

Rebecca F. Kuang is an award-winning fantasy novelist who published her debut novel, The Poppy War, at age 21; the trilogy was later named one of TIME magazine’s “100 Best Fantasy Books of All Time.” Her novel Yellowface was praised by Stephen King as “hard to put down, harder to forget” and was nominated for the 2023 World Fantasy Award for Best Novel. In 2025, HarperCollins signed Kuang to a four-book deal that includes Taipei Story. Born in China and raised in Texas, she holds multiple master’s degrees, is pursuing a Ph.D. in East Asian languages and literatures at Yale, and was named to the 2023 Time100 Next list and the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2024.
